The King in His Beauty
Daily Devotional for May 16th
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. Isaiah 6:1-3
While multitudes on earth are enjoying a life of sin, wickedness and fallen life without God, there exist those who are looking for greater things and preparing to leave this world. Those who have been called out of darkness, are looking for One to come and put a final stop to the decay of sin. This body of believers, the Church, awaits their coming King; Jesus Christ Himself.
In the year that Israel’s temporary king died, Isaiah was given a view of Israel’s eternal King. It was none other than Jesus Himself. John confirms this in John 12:41. Our eyes can become mesmerized by many different attractions, but one thing is for sure, once our eyes view Jesus, nothing else will come close in comparison. After Isaiah saw Jesus here, his entire life was changed. He would become one of the most important prophets in Israel.
The world has always held a very strange view of Jesus. They disrespect Him and blaspheme His name. When He came to free mankind from the captivity they were in, they mocked Him, spat on Him, and plucked His beard. There was such a despising of our Lord, but He loved and still loves this world. But when you are oppressed, bound with chains, and afflicted by Satan, there is nothing more beautiful than Jesus.
To each who has been rescued from sin and Satan, Jesus is beautiful! He is the most beautiful sight my eyes have ever seen! He is the fairest of ten thousand! One of these days, we shall see the King in His beauty. Isaiah 33:17 Do you know how beautiful Jesus is? Every eye shall behold Jesus one day. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord! There will be no denying the beauty of Jesus when our eyes look upon Him. Every eye shall see Him. Revelation 1:7.
