Is Anything Too Hard for God?
Daily Devotional for May 4th
And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. Genesis 18:13-14
Did you know God’s ways are not our ways? Do you realize God is not like unto man that He should lie? Numbers 23:19. In our attempts to assure those we love that we will do something for them, we make promises. Some of those promises, although we had great intentions, fell through because something hindered us.
When God makes a promise to you, you can go ahead and call it done because in the mind of God, it is as good as done! God is true to His promises. There’s only one thing that keeps the promises of God from being fulfilled in our life; and that is our unbelief. So many times Jesus’ healing and deliverance was based upon the faith of those in need.
When God made a promise to Abraham and Sarah that she would bear a child seemed a little far fetched. In this generation, all of God’s promises seem improbable because they reach beyone that which man can accomplish. This is what sets God apart. He is able to do far more than you and I could even dream. But just because His promises are beyond our understanding does not mean we cannot believe God.
There is nothing too hard for God! God made this world with His Word! There’s more power in the Word of God than everything else in the world. We miss out on God’s promises simply because we do not believe God is big enough. Cancer is no big deal for God! Depression must flee at the presence of God. Alcohol and drug addiction are easily broken at God’s command. There’s no bondage of Satan that can remain when Jesus comes on the scene. Friend, do you realize there’s nothing that God can’t do? Are you facing something today that requires the hand of God to get out of it? There is nothing, nothing too hard for God. He can do it! He will do it if you will place it in His hands and trust Him.
