At Jesus’ Feet – Daily Devotion for April 13th

At Jesus’ Feet

Daily Devotional for April 13th

And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. Luke 7:37-38

This life is so full of heartache and pain that there are times when we are so heavily burdened by it all. Disagreements is families, misunderstandings with Christian brothers and sisters; these things leave us frustrated and we are tempted to throw in the towel.  All our frustrations would ultimately consume us if it were not for one thing; falling at the feet of Jesus.

The unbelieving world either does not know to cast their burdens at Jesus’ feet or else they willingly choose not to. Alcohol, drugs, prescription medication are all forms of escape from the pressures and frustrations of life.  Many believers today have fallen into the bondage of prescription drugs and feel justified because their doctor prescribed it to them.  They truth is that alcohol and drug use is a sign that the anguish is still present.  Once a person falls at the feet of Jesus and calls out to Him, He will heal the brokenheart.

This woman, when she realized where Jesus was, came and fell at Jesus’ feet. She desperately needed relief.  But more than just relief, she needed release.  She needed freedom from her hurts.  You and I cannot walk this walk with the Lord with grief and anguish of heart.  It will consume you to the point of discouragement and depression.  We must understand that it’s at the feet of Jesus where healing for our souls will come.

How long have you lived with a hurt in your heart that you cannot hurdle? Is there pain inflicted inside you from someone you loved?  Has that hurt left you wounded?  Is it an old wound and still has not been healed?  If so, there is healing at the feet of Jesus.  Run to Jesus.  Fall at His feet and weep before Him.  Pour out the very depths of your souls hurts to Him and ask Him to heal.  He will answer you speedily.  There will be no need for medication when the pain is gone.  Call to Him today.

  1. You must have a portal to my soul. While I have always been vulnerable to anxiety, a series of traumas deepened this root, springing out panic attacks. For the past couple of years, the peace of God has eluded me. It is not sinful fretting but an emotional damage. I am convinced that only the Lord can deliver, heal, and renew.
I somewhat believed that perhaps this is like ‘Jacob’s limp’, an affliction that God will have me live with…even like beloved Charles Spurgeon who lived with depression…but no.
He said, “Though wilt keep in perfect peace” and the fruit of the Spirit is peace so therefore I am determined to receive and walk in this peace…. the peace that surpasses understanding.
Through fasting, prayer, and FALLING AT THE FEET OF JESUS I must find the freedom of His peace to better represent Him and pursue His Kingdom in greater measure.
Sorry for too long comment, thank you so much brethren for ministering the word of God and encouraging.

  2. I cannot know the pain you and others have experienced through life; only my own. I do know that Jesus has healed so much hurt in me that came from ministry hurts. When we are hurt on a spiritual level, it is a hurt no one knows. I trust that Jesus our healer knows just how to reach in and apply His wonderful touch to us! Thank you so much for your continued sharing. You’ve encouraged us more than you’ll ever know. God bless you sister Lisa!
