Don’t Play the Fool
Daily Devotional for April 1st
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.. Psalm 14:1
Our world cannot see beyond its own eyesight when it comes to God. Great scientists and professors have come to the false conclusion that there is no God. This is all based upon their research and findings. When the science has gone as far as it can go, they arrive at an assumption that evolution must be the cause. The truth is that evolution itself is a belief and cannot be proven. With both views, there is solid evidence of a “Big bang;” meaning something extraordinary happened suddenly to bring life as we know it. There is far more evidence of creation than evolution by far.
The greatest tragedy with unbelievers is they too believe in things they cannot see. The sad thing though is they do not have a hope beyond this life. Death is the end to them. But to all who know Jesus in relationship by the blood, there is such a realness of His presence. It cannot be overlooked or ignored. God’s hand is very evident in the believer’s life. When God answers prayer, when people are delivered from addictions through the power of Jesus name, when people are healed through belief in the name of Jesus, it just stands as another in the long list of testimonies that God is real!
The world we live in is an open testimony to all that a creator made it. Romans 1:19-20. In other words, the evidence of creation demands that we understand there is a creator. This is where to problem exists. Most people don’t want to believe because in doing so, they realize they will stand before Him when this life is over. The devil has pulled the wool over Atheists eyes and has deceived them. They sadly are playing the fool. God said the fool has said, there is no God. It’s one thing for a man to call a person a fool, but when God calls them a fool then they are just that. It’s because an unbeliever is deceived against what they know in their heart is true and by the beauty of God’s creation.
You and I do not have to play the fool. We don’t have to be the devil’s fools. Call upon the Lord in faith and see what He will do for you. Thomas, one of Jesus’ disciples, said after the crucifixion, “Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. Jesus came to Thomas and allowed him to do just that. He said “Be not faithless but believing.” Jesus does not want us faithless but believing. Believing in nothing has got you just that; nothing. Why not call upon the name of the Lord? Try Him and see what He will do. Jesus will convince you that He is not only real but is King of Everything! You’ll see!
