Above Every Name

Daily Devotional for  March 10th

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  Philippians 2:9-11

As God’s children, we should never face troubles the way we did before.  Why?  Because now we have the Almighty God of Heaven on our side.  We have the loving arms of Jesus that holds us continually.  He desires to work on your behalf to give you the victory you need in this life.  He is God.  He is the creator of all!  The grace that God is able to extend to you cannot be measured, neither can it be fought against.

Many people seem to ignore the work Jesus accomplished at the cross of Calvary.  Some people even say that it was the greatest defeat.  Jesus went to the cross and faced death and judgment for every man so that we wouldn’t have to.   Jesus also took on the entire kingdom of Hell and singlehandedly defeated it.  If Satan has victory in a life then it is for one reason and one reason only; that person has not carried their battle to Jesus.

Because Jesus accomplished all that He accomplished at Calvary, God the Father has highly exalted Him.  He has also given a name above every other name, including Satan.  Why is this important?  Because when you call on the name of Jesus, then every other creature on earth and in Hell must take notice.  When you call on Jesus, Lucifer’s grip on your life will be removed.

Are there circumstances you’re facing today that hold you?  Are you bound with things and cannot seem to break free?  Call out to Jesus!  Every knee must bow in submission to Him.  There’s not a devil in Hell that must not obey what Jesus says.  When you call out to Jesus asking Him to deliver, He will not leave you in chains.  He will not leave you a victim to the enemy.  When we call out to Jesus, then the devil must bow in submission and obey what the King of kings requires.
