The Way God Moves

Daily Devotional for August 4th

Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid.  John 11:40-41

The world has a twisted view of God and the ways in which He works. Although we do in unintentionally, we place limit after limit on the Lord.  We even believe that there are times when it becomes too hard, too big, or too late for Jesus to change situations in our life.  There is no wonder why the devil is able to rob the world of the miracles God wants to perform in our lives.  Is it true that we give up on God’s ability far too soon?

Have you allowed the world to mold your way of believing? The world has proclaimed I’ll believe it when I see it! Do you realize this is the exact opposite of how God works in our lives?  Notice how Jesus responded to Martha; Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?  Friend, do you understand today that our faith must come before we see God move on our behalf?  Faith can never follow the moving of God; it must always come before.  We have gotten the cart before the horse; so to speak.

How can we limit and limitless God?  Is it possible to restrain God’s works in our life?  The answer is yes!  Although Jesus can do all things, He moves when we believe!  Unbelief limited the Son of God to only a few sick people.  Mark 6:5-6.  We should not marvel at this truth because, to be perfectly honest, this is the way we receive anything from God.  We must believe unto righteousness (Romans 10:10 & Galatians 3:6), for deliverance (2 Corinthians 1:9-10).  We believe for wisdom; (James 1:5-7), for victory; (1 John 5:4).

Are you squarely facing circumstances in your path today that stand in your way? Is there sickness, disease, bondage, depression, discourage or some other calamity in your life?  Jesus specializes in removing everything Satan has come to destroy.  This was the very reason Jesus came.  1 John 3:8b.  Do you believe Him enough to place your circumstance at His feet?  He desires to move on your behalf, friend.  He’s willing to release you from everything that captivates you!  Total victory is His vision for you!  Give your problem to Jesus!  Faith reaches and grabs a hold of God.  If you will believe, then you will see the glory of God!
