Remember Our Soldiers

Daily Devotional for May 29th

Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:7-8

As we celebrate Memorial Day to remember those soldiers and veterans who fought and died for our freedom, we cannot forget the sacrifice their families have made by having their lives forever changed America deeply owes a great debt of gratitude to all of them.  We would not enjoy the freedom we have today had it not been for the dedication to our men and women in uniform.

We also cannot ignore those who have enlisted in God’s Armed Forces to become great soldiers. These brave men and women have waged spiritual warfare and become soldiers of the Kingdom of Heaven.  While many Christians today give their lives to Jesus but then go on with their lives without battling for the salvation and deliverance of others, some have.

This generation enjoys this wonderful gospel today the same reason why Americans enjoy our freedoms; because of those who have fought for it. Christian soldiers today are instructed in Jude to earnestly contend for the faith once delivered to the saints.  Satan will stop at nothing to deceive, steal and destroy the spiritual freedom we have been given by the Lord!

The question that stands before us today is this; are you in that number of believers who will join the fight to keep and protect the spiritual freedoms we enjoy? There are no doubt many who you have known that have spoken unto you the word of God, who have instructed you in righteousness and given you the words needed to bring about your victory in Christ.  Will you do the same for the next generation?  If we do not join the fight and battle to keep our freedoms, we will lose them!  Let us remember those who have fought for, not only our freedoms as Americans, but our freedoms as Christians.
