Christ Lives In Me!
Daily Devotional for May 27th & 28th
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
The Christian life cannot be compared to any other religion in the world. All other religions, without exception, proclaim the belief in a deity that is either a physical image, one whose remains are still in a grave, or one who does not reveal itself to its worshippers.
But when a person is born again, the reality of the Risen Christ is very clearly revealed. First of all, the weight of sin is lifted from us. Next, the guilt and shame that comes from a life of sin is completed removed because of the blood of Jesus that takes away our sin. Finally, the presence of the Holy Spirit comes to live within us when we’re saved. This Holy Spirit is God. To everyone who is born again, there is such a reality of God’s presence within us that we need never doubt where God is; He is in us!
Jesus revealed to His disciples that God was with them, but would shortly afterward be in them. John 14:18. He also declared that We (He and the Father) would make their abode with him. In John 15:4, Jesus exhorts us “Abide in me, and I in you.” Paul revealed to the Galatians that Christ lives in each believer. If Jesus is inside you, then there will never be a time when He is not with you! Herein lies the great consolation to each of us. He is in you to comfort and console you in the troublesome hours. He is within you to commune with you. He is in you to reach out to others who need Him. He is also in you to help you; to guide you; to direct you through every circumstance that you go through.
Our ultimate destination is Heaven. This same Jesus who is in you today will be the hope of eternal life. Paul said to the Colossians; To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27.
