Many Infallible Proofs

Daily Devotional for April 18th

To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: Acts 1:3

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is so inhuman that it is almost unbelievable. It’s so much of a struggle to the carnal mind because it goes against the natural course of life.  No one had ever been resurrected from the dead.  The truths that keep our hearts is the fact that Jesus wasn’t just human; He was God in the flesh!  Jesus did just exactly what He said He would do; and that was go before them into Galilee after the cross.  But there’s more than just believing in the biblical account that causes us to believe, it is with infallible proofs that Jesus has shown Himself alive unto the world.

Jesus can perform great things in your life and still not convince you of the greater miracles. Although Peter and John had seen healing after miracle, they ran to the tomb on Sunday morning and viewed into an empty tomb.  It did not necessarily mean that Jesus was alive.  Thomas’ faith was terribly shaken as well.  He refused to believe unless he touched the nail prints.  Jesus granted him his desire.  Are you having it difficult to believe in a resurrected Christ?  If so, Jesus will remove all your difficulties.

After Jesus was raised from the dead, it wasn’t enough for Him to simply ascend into Heaven. Jesus chose to stay for another forty days.  Would you have been amazed?  We all would have!  He appeared to Mary and then the disciples.  Afterward He appeared to more than five hundred people at once.  This could be the reason why Jesus’ half brothers James and Jude became believers.  Not only did they witness the resurrected Son of God continue to teach them things concerning the kingdom of God, but the disciples witnessed Jesus ascend back into glory!

Jesus showed Himself alive unto His disciples, He will also make Himself known unto you. Many infallible proofs were shown unto them.  This means that the evidence of Jesus’ resurrection was so solid that no one would be able to convince the disciple otherwise.  If you’re born again, then Jesus has given you infallible proofs as well.  There is an infallible presence of God that comes at salvation and abides with us as we walk with the Lord.  The burden of sin is removed the instant we receive Christ as our Saviour.  He has shown Himself alive to us as well in 2017.  We know He is alive!
