A Work Not Believed
Daily Devotional for March 21st
Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you. Habakkuk 1:5
Did you know that God’s ways are so much higher than ours? When God does anything, it is so much greater than our expectations. The Lord is continually working beyond our limited grasp of understanding. The weakest that God could ever be is greater than man. God takes the wise in their own craftiness. God is so amazing that Satan isn’t even a worthy enemy.
Like Habakkuk, we pray as he did in the beginning of this scripture; O Lord, how long shall I cry and thou wilt not hear! All too often we think that God is not hearing our cry, but the truth is God is answering our prayers in ways that are so far beyond our ability to recognize. God has answered our prayers many times in such a way that it was not even visible, until it was already answered.
Habakkuk didn’t even think the Lord was hearing his prayers but yet God would give him such an extraordinary reply. God told him that He would work a work in his day which he would not believe, though it be told to him. In common English the Lord told him that He would answer his prayer so big that he wouldn’t even believe it. He answers that same way today friend.
We must realize that most of the time we ask so much smaller than God desires to answer. When God answers prayer, He never just answers, He exceeds the petition you desired. He always goes far beyond what we can imagine. It’s because He’s God! God can and will work a work in your day also, which you may not be able to believe, though somebody declare it to you.
