Showdown at Mt. Carmel, July 16th, 2025

Scripture references: 1 Kings 18:17-24

Bellview Church has been honored to host the presence of God lately in a way that I cannot describe. His Holy Spirit has been flooding our souls! We’ve been able to rejoice in the presence of God just like in the days of old when I was growing up! Those who are lost are getting saved. The old backsliders are returning to Christ. Those who are battling or discouraged are receiving so much help from the Lord. This is what church should be like.

Like Elijah the prophet in the days of old, we face battles and difficulties that literally place us in Mt. Carmel type places. Like Elijah, the devil seeks to outnumber us and force us to remain defeated and silent in our battles. However, God appointed Elijah to go make a stand to King Ahab.

The people of Israel had forsaken God, giving themselves over to multiple heathen gods. America is in the same condition today. Our lost loved ones are “halt between 2 opinions” trying to decide who is the true and living God and who are the fake gods. The church of our generation has a dilemma to deal with. We must be real with God in our lives before God can be real in ours. If the church doesn’t come back to genuine Christianity, we should wonder why a lost and dying world remains unsaved.

It’s time the church take a stand for God. 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of the groves, Elijah marched up Mt. Carmel with determination and intention to make the name of the Lord famous in Israel once again.

Take some time and listen as the Spirit of God moved us in worship and the ministering of the word. It’s our time to make our stand for God. We can make a difference to our generation as we stand in the gap for God and His name. God will answer by fire and all those around us will “fall on their faces: and say The LORD, he is the GOD; the LORD, he is the GOD.” 1 Kings 18:39.
