This 4 minute audio is snipped from a message Bro. Rick Rigsby preached back in 11/16/2003.
Church, how we need to get back to consecrating a place to meet with God. Prayer is important and I’m not making light of it, but loving the Lord enough to hallow a certain place and dedicating a certain time to do nothing but go before God and pour out our souls unto the Lord.
Is the only time we pray those times in which we are doing something else like driving, working, eating, walking, or some other kind of activity? Does it matter? I don’t believe there is anything wrong with praying during these activities, but I do believe we need to get back to finding a place and time where we get rid of all the distractions of this life so that we can focus totally and completely on God in prayer.
Is this simple truth what is missing in your prayer life? Sure we can pray while doing other things, but is “ALL” of our heart praying in those moments? Can we really say that all of our heart is coming before the Lord unless we take time to shut out everything else in our lives for a time of prayer? Is your all on the altar?
I challenge you to listen to this 4 minute audio and ask the Lord to show you. Take some time out of your day and go before the Lord without any distractions and see how big of a difference it makes in your Christian life.
