Let Love Lead
Matthew 20:30-34
And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David. And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David. And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you? They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
Throughout scripture, we see Jesus’ motivation for everything He did; it was Love. His love for each individual person drove Him to reach out in their time of need.
Have you ever wondered what made Jesus’ ministry so effective? It was because He moved with compassion. Love opens up the heart of people who would otherwise shut you out. Not only does love open the heart of people, but love opens the miracle working power of God toward each individual.
At the new birth, Jesus lives within every believer. If Jesus is in you, then His love is trying to reach out of you toward everyone you encounter. Let Love Lead You. Don’t let anger move you. Anger will cause individuals to close their heart toward you. Don’t allow something to provoke you to act unless it is love.
Love for people and love for God should move us. Let love lead everything you do. When you reach out to someone with love, you’ll find another hand is reaching out in front of yours.
