The World’s Persecution

Daily Devotional for March 25th

Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. John 15:20

When we give our lives unto the Lord, we come to Him because of the torture Satan has made our lives to become. We call out to the Lord for deliverance because of that oppression and Jesus powerfully delivers. We experience the wonderful power of God’s forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ being applied to our lives. Our new life could not be any more wonderful except for one thing; we now have the world’s persecution to contend with.

Persecution is not easy to deal with. As a matter of fact, persecution alone causes many people to stop living for God. They simply cannot take the ridicule. But with the love that Jesus promised to all who would come unto Him, He also forewarned us all that we salvation would not come without trouble from the world. Have you given your life to Jesus and now are facing alienation from those who received you before? This is common to every child of God.

The irony of this world can be summed up this way; if you choose to have an inward struggle in your soul by sin, you will be accepted by the world, or you can have your soul at peace with God but face ridicule from the world. The greatest thing to remember concerning persecution is that it comes from the world; meaning, it is outward struggle. The reality is you now have inward peace because of being redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

If your saved, you must realize one thing; the world will no longer accept you. It’s Satan’s last attempt to get you to turn from God. The world can persecute, but it cannot separate you from the love of God. It cannot take away the peace and joy Jesus gives. We are living in a fallen world. We are now citizens from Heaven. We are immigrants in a sense. Remember, Jesus came into this world and the world did not receive Him. If they persecuted Him, do not be surprised if they persecute you. But Jesus would bring us great comfort, In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

  1. Humbling truths here. I just quoted this verse in an article I submitted to an Armenian newspaper, ‘1915 – Where Was God?’ So many Armenians abandoned their faith or rejected God. I hope they print my submission – my elderly parents are amongst the unbelievers.
God bless you brother as you uplift Christ’s Body everyday!

      • Not yet brother. I submitted it to an Armenian newspaper first, hopefully it comes out this week! But I may post it on my site afterwards as well. Thanks so much for your kind interest!
