Behold I Make All Things New
Daily Devotional for January 2nd
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Revelation 21:5-6
Life in Jesus cannot be overestimated. God’s touch on your life is never forgotten about. God’s presence is so gripping, it cannot be placed into words. You may not be able to express what you feel when God’s presence comes, but you know you’ve been so touched that your never the same from that point onward. You may even walk away from God and go back into a sinful lifestyle, but when God touches you, you’ll keep that experience within you for eternity.
When Jesus says I make all things new, this statement is so powerful and stedfast as all of God’s words are. This means that everything that has been touched by sin will be changed. Life is ever the same and, thank God you don’t want to be the same. Satan corrupted this world through Adam’s fall in the garden, but Jesus’ atoning work on Calvary’s cross made a way so that nothing, literally nothing that Satan introduced through sin could remain. The power of the Cross obliterated sin; hence making ALL THINGS NEW!
Because of Jesus’ sacrifice at Calvary, there is a new beginning for you and everyone else in the world. Drug addiction ends in His presence! Alcoholism, adultery, fornication, sins of every color end in His presence. All things are new! Your sinful past cannot hinder you. You no longer have to be held by your past. Grace, which comes from God, is sufficient to forgive, cleanse, and set you on a new course for living. If you’ve been held by things you’ve done, call on Jesus! He can and will wipe every bit of your sinful past away and give you grace to start anew.
Your new beginning starts with Jesus! Only Jesus has the power to do this in your life. While Satan desires to keep you held in darkness and keep you beat down with your faults and failures, the God who loves this world so purely will pick you up, wash you in His blood, forget all of your past so that today can be the start of the rest of your life. Will you surrender to the King and let Him make all things new in your life?
